DW bids farewell to the century-old German training ship Alexander von Humboldt as she sails the North Atlantic for the last time, competing in the annual tall ships'race along with some 50 of the most beautiful sailing ships of the world. Maintenance costs for the 100-year old vessel have been getting too expensive, so a brand new tall ship – Alexander von Humboldt II – is set to sail in 2012.
