Peter Siegfried Krug (born 1966) is an Austrian FIDE Master in chess composition, yoga teacher, and photographer. <br />Early Life and Childhood <br />He was born on November 23, 1966, in Salzburg. <br />He spent his early childhood in a children's home. <br />His difficult childhood left its mark on him, and he found chess a way to escape the harsh reality. <br />He began playing chess at the age of 12. <br />Chess Career <br />Krug specialized in chess composition and was named a FIDE Master in this discipline in 2017. <br />He has composed over 650 endgame studies and also corrects flawed studies by other authors, often by introducing new ideas that improve the compositions. <br />His first study was published in the Austrian chess magazine Schach Aktiv in 2005. <br />Other Activities <br />In addition to chess, Krug is a trained yoga instructor and offers courses in Austria and Germany. <br />He is also an avid photographer and achieved master status on the photo platform "GuruShots" in 2023. <br />His preferred subjects are landscapes, animals, and portraits. <br />Private Life <br />Since 2016, Peter Krug has lived in Hallein with his partner, the artist Lucia Nadia Cipriani. <br />He is an adventurer who enjoys being outdoors and free climbing.
